Imported pages and sheets are listed apart. An imported drawing is not a Sheet. Drag a row, or use the arrows, to reorder. Name a page or a sheet and that name is what the tabs, the header and the exports call it. Moving a page takes its marks, views and scale with it.

Tick a floor to lay it under the one you are on, so you can see what a beam has to land on. View registration maps the ticked floor’s window onto the one you have open — or, if none is open, onto the only named floor on this sheet. That is what makes plans at different scales, on different sheets and from different files line up. Page registers both at the sheet origin instead. This is a view: nothing is written to the job and no overlay reaches an export.

Flattening renders the page exactly as you see it — chosen layers only, markup burned in — into a new PDF. The original is never touched, and the flattened copy has no layers left to switch back on.

A linetype is one weight, colour and dash of linework — what the drawing gives you when the architect left no layers. Drag one onto a group to include it. A group holds layers and linetypes together, and switching it off hides its layers across the document and its linetypes on this page.

Tick to show or hide. Click a row to select it on the sheet; drag its handles to move it. Deleting a beam line asks whether the member goes with it — the take-down and the drawing stay one model.

Every member you have taken down, with its mark and its section. They sit here until you show one on a drawing: drag a row onto the sheet, or click it and then click where it goes. What lands is the section drawn true to the scale there, labelled with the member's mark, and it follows that member's section from then on.

A view is a region of the sheet: drag a window round a plan or a detail and name it — Ground Floor · Proposed. It opens as its own page from the strip above the drawing, drops onto a blank sheet as a viewport, is bound into the calculation pack, and exports as a JPG snippet from here.

A bookmark remembers the page, the zoom and where you were looking. One locked to a view re-centres on the view instead of on remembered pixels, so it still works after a zoom or a resize.

What each arrow on the sheet means. A span symbol describes the deck, carries no load, and never enters the take-down — it is there so a reader knows which way the floor runs, and so the loaded widths in the take-down can be justified.

The one notes bank: HEC's wording transcribed verbatim from issued documents (ten jobs, PN2301-04 to PN2601-01) and from the shared Drive, generic wording marked so it is replaced, and what you saved in this browser. A note lands as plain text with the job's variables filled; the Draw tab's Notes tool reads the same bank.

Bluebeam's best idea: a markup you use every job becomes a one-click tool. Saved tools keep their text and kind, not their position — pick one, then click where it goes. They live in the job file.

Half-toning the architect's underlay makes your marks read as the drawing — the convention for work over another practice's base. It changes the display and your exports, never their file.

The grid is real millimetres at this page's scale. Drawn geometry still wins within reach; the grid catches the rest, which is what a blank sheet needs.

Hold Shift for ortho at any time, whatever the tick says. Align locks the direction onto a nearby drawn line, or square to it, so a beam follows the wall it sits on instead of your hand.

Clicks land on the nearest ticked point within reach, so measurements take the drawn dimension, not your mouse accuracy. Ends are squares, midpoints triangles, intersections crosses — the live one highlights as you hover.
